Brent currently serves as the Manager of Executive Operations at The Leadership Conference for Civil and Human Rights where he supports the President and CEO and manages the Executive Office. Prior to joining The Leadership Conference, Brent was an appointee in the Executive Office of DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, working as the Special Assistant to the Deputy Mayor for Greater Economic Opportunity. Prior to joining the Bowser Administration, Brent served in the Obama Administration from August 2014-January 2017 at the Department of Commerce as Secretary Penny Pritzker's Special Advisor and Director of Scheduling. Before joining the Administration, Brent worked at the national advocacy nonprofit, Voices for Progress. A native of Dallas, Texas, Brent received his Bachelor's Degree from St. Edward's University in Austin, TX, and his master of Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. Brent lives in Washington, DC with his husband Kyle.
