Respond, Rebuild, Rebound: Communities in a COVID Era
Nick founded Frontline Foods PDX to provide relief to restaurants struggling due to the COVID-19 economic shutdown. Run by a team of local volunteers, Frontline Foods PDX has raised more than $170,000 for Portland restaurants, who use the donations to deliver meals to local hospitals and food insecure families.
Nick is a 2019 Fellow and current board member of NLC Portland.
Professionally, Nick currently leads sustainability and climate change grantmaking for Google’s philanthropic arm, Google.org. Previously, he led a team responsible for Google.org’s employee volunteering and pro bono programs, and co-developed Google.org’s two-year, $50M commitment to support tech-based solutions to close gaps in global education. Nick has developed and managed over $40M in grants to nonprofits using technology and innovation to address global challenges.
Nick earned a bachelor's in American Studies from Columbia University and an MBA with honors from the Berkeley-Haas School of Business, where he was Co-Chair of the Global Social Venture Competition.
